Fred Meyer sells inexpensive bulk spices. I like their Fiesta Chili powder for cooking (very mild heat, hardly any). Cayenne is the hottest I have, except for Thai peppers.

I ground some of them up once with my coffee bean grinder. Beware the dust!

if your garden is like mine, any powder or dust only remains dusty for a day or so. The first drizzle makes it hot mud.
