There are 2 ways to chill seeds. The first is basically just cold storage.... Storing seeds in the fridge after they have been dried. The second is cold stratification....storing seeds in a moist environment (moist sand, vermiculite, paper towel, coffee filter, etc or in a peroxide/water solution for at least 3 weeks then brought out to room temperature to germinate.

There are several threads on here that discuss this and you can google cold stratification of daylily seeds to see various ways people do it.

I do not cold store or cold stratify mine; I plant them directly out of the pods. Now when I sell seeds I do cold store them for at least 3 weeks since that what everyone seems to expect.
