I did not ask for a replace as I supposed ALL the terrecottas were in a group in the greenhouses and ALL labled wrong.
Repotting is a good idea for you young wippersnappers. Not for me.I only take advantage of early season sales as they are that springs plants.
There is a risk in buying late season sale plants.
Some nurseries plant plugs in pots and sell them as rooted nursery stock. This is why they dont live,no time for roots to develop.
When I see a September or later plant on sale I lift the pot and see if there are roots coming out the bottom,if not I give the plant a tug. Many times I have tugged ,gently and found the fresh 2 inch plug in a4 inch pot of fresh potting soil. I take a pass on that plant.
My methods for buying low priced plants are developed to save me energy and time replanting and digging a hole for a plant more than once. It's just economy of stamina which is in short supply here.
