I started some Agapanthus from seed a couple of years ago, and last spring decided to put a few in the garden and see if I could provide them enough protection to survive the winter. We had a long winter this year, and colder for longer than we have had in several years, so I was thinking their chances were slim. Well, what a lovely surprise I found a few days ago, they made it! Most sources list them as hardy to zone 8 or 9, and I'm in zone 6 Smiling
"...and don't think the garden loses its ecstasy in winter. It's quiet, but the roots are down there riotous." Rumi
