We had that wind yesterday. I always text my niece in Biloxi to tease about the rain wind, or cold we're sending to them from Texas. Our weather gets to the MS Gulf Coast about 24 hours later!
Those ants might be what we have here called crazy ants. They do a lot of damage eating the roots of plants in pots they move into. I finally used Sevin dust on the edges of the pots so they had to cross it...and die. The good news about crazy ants is they're displacing the fire ants. The bad news is they love the wiring in air conditioners and electronics nearly as much as potted plants.
