Umm, Sandi the active ingredient in Sevin is Carbaryl. http://www.gardentech.com/Lear... . Pyrethrin is the 'natural' pesticide that comes from chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium.

Pyrethrins aren't all that safe either, btw. Even though they come from a plant, they are still neurotoxins. The insecticides made with Pyrethrins are being re-evaluated for impact on asthma and allergies in people and pets, and also for their impact on fish populations where they are used on turf grass, and thus subject to stormwater runoff contamination. i.e. don't use it on plants near a pond or water garden!
