Thank you for that link. That answers a lot of questions about why I'm getting all the watermarks in the 'Killer' seedlings as it wasn't obvious WHY they were occurring from that cultivar. The cross with 'Jungle Shadows' gave almost 50% watermarked seedlings for instance.

This is one reason I do a lot of self pollination of cultivars that have unusual characteristics as the seedlings show segregations of traits from the two parents that are not apparent in the hybrid itself. You can recombine all the recessives for some very interesting cultivars.

Julia, Well I'm glad you don't need a moat- YET! I do agree that the raised bed kits are a great way of creating new gardening space. If you fill at least the top two inches with good sterile potting soil that will give you a great weed free area to grow your seedlings. I put down a piece of weed mat before I install the raised bed to keep anything from encroaching upon the bed as well as to keep any soil from leaching out. Best yet you can create this whole bed in less than an hour!
