dave said:Up til now, the Daylilies Database had a very nice feature where the cultivars in the parentage were hyperlinks to their respective entries. Additionally, when you were viewing a cultivar that had been used as a parent in some "child" cultivars, then it would count how many children it had and give you a link to view all the children plants of that entry.

@KentPfeiffer has been patiently waiting for me to extend this feature to Irises, and today I am pleased to announce that this work is finished. It now works for all plants in the database, not just daylilies and irises.

Now, there have been some changes to the database to accommodate this. Starting now: the parent data is no longer going to be present in the custom architectures. There is a new field under the "Primary Plant Details" called "Parentage" and it is in this field where the parentage now belongs. The syntax is the same as it has always been.

The Parentage field that used to be present in the custom databases is now obsolete and will be removed. I already took care of the data from Irises and Daylilies.

If there are other custom databases that already have a Parentage field, let me know which ones they are and I will migrate them over to the new system.

I hope you all enjoy this and if there are any issues with this, please let me know.

Awesome!
