Clipped Yews are considered old fashion foundation plantings. In our area all the old houses had them and mostly they were pretty boring. Most have been ripped out over the years and replaced with more interesting and modern plantings. I just like this one because we did something different with it. I think it will work very well with the more formal plantings we are going to do in the Secret Garden. But then I like hedges and I like having edges to my beds. Something that says this stops here and that starts there.
Becky, I'm not too off topic are I? Not quite sure this is the type of Theme you wanted in this thread.
