For those of you that have not heard the bathtub story. It originally came from my Uncles summer place when I was a child it sat outside with a hand pump. When he got the place a bit more civilized it came to my house were we used it as a water trough for our horses. Then on to the life of a party girl, yes she could hold 3 beer kegs. I was doing a clean up and took down the old pasture fence and started cleaning up the area where the tub was still sitting. I decided to get rid of the tub as I just had no use for it. So I had Ric drag it out front for trash pick up. My son Josh came to visit and saw it sitting out there and said Mom you can't get rid of that. So he moved it back into the yard. A few days later I came up with the idea of using it as a pond. It took awhile to decide where I was going to put it. Originally I wanted to put it out front next to the arbor with the Trumpet Vine that is how I picked the color. But I soon realized that the Norway Spruce would give it too much shade. I have two other small ponds in the back yard so I didn't want it there and I really didn't want it sitting in the middle of front yard. Somehow I decided to put it here and it works really good. We like to sit out front and watch the hummers coming and going at the trumpet vine and the tub is easily seen and heard from the front porch. Plus we walk past it all the time on the way down to the Veggie garden or the barn. I was very pleased with it.
My son Jamie plumbed it for me there is a circulating pump in the tub and it circulates the water through the copper piping and out the tub spigot, so it looks like the tub is running. The electric to the pump runs through the overflow drain and down the larger copper pipe so you don't see any of the plumping but the decorative copper piping.
