Moving farther south just means that some of your house plants are instantly reclassified as horrible weeds (asparagus fern, spider plant,) hardy yard plants (Gardenia, jasmine, Brugmansia, Cannas,) so you turn to 'more hardcore stuff' a dangerous & slippery slope & still a house crammed full of plants. The maddening thing is that you know some would be OK outside, just not sure which... I used to laugh incredulously when reading stuff on forums about covering plants with sheets until moving here, now I get it. It really can make a difference when winter only pops around intermittently during the actual season.

Callisia fragrans has been in the same pot for going on 3 years. I don't usually leave one alone that long.
Kalanchoe x houghtonii blooms finally opened.
Man, I keep occasionally driving by the giant Optunias with hundreds of purple flower buds but the flowers are never open. That's one cool thing to see down here. Sure wish I could be driving by when those things are open though.
