Voles are apparently worse than moles as they eat the roots of your plants. My dog hunts them and I put up with her digging holes since she usually produces results.

As for moles, my husband has been actively battling them for 30 plus years. He's tried chewing gum, urine, castor oil/bean, and various homemade potions directly down the holes, flooding the runs, asphixiating with car exhaust, shooting their active hills, whirligigs, super sonic devices, and anything/everything else one has heard of -- the only thing successful has been to trap them.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
