Oh yes, it is! We have a little place on Lake LBJ. 'Had it for 30 yrs ( it was built in the '50s). A couple of years ago, the PVC pipes froze, water heater too. We didn't know it at the time. We went up in the spring and turned on the water at the street. Water was spewing out of the linen closet and walls. The pipes ran under the house, along the middle of the house. The plumber replaced everything with some kind of pipe that expands. We haven't had a problem since, but also didn't have a really cold winter last year. It's always a surprise when we go back there in spring!
