I wouldn't worry just yet on the JM. Mine are all at different stages of leafing out, and my coral bark maple is still completely naked, as is my bargain 'Filigree Lace'.
It's looking ominous outside. They're expecting storms today into tomorrow, and then again Saturday. But, but, ..... I NEED to be able to work outside.
I better run and get a few things done while I have a chance.
