I have a lot of zone 8 plants that won't survive a zone 8 Winter mainly because we always have a few instances (like the last few days) of what's definitely not zone 8 Winter temps and keep them in what I call my iffy greenhouse .. it contains all the zone 8 plants of which half wouldn't survive like elephant ears, passiflora, banana, brugmansia etc. the teens and single digit temps - plus it gives them a jump start when the temps start to warm up in the Spring. Love my babies too much to take any chances.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
