There is a difference in moving them and "placing" them. Getting them from point A to point B can be easier than getting them into an exact place.
All of DirtDorphins ideas were good and we have used many of those, just love the car hood.
Those really big ones in the back were moved by heavy equipment. The neighbor was having them removed and his loader just brought over the ones we wanted and piled them up. We moved quite a few pretty large cut stone for a wall Ric's built. We drug them out of a near by creek using some heavy duty straps, pry bars and the Explorer. We also used several heavy metal pipes to roll them into place with lift straps to place them.
