I struggle with that too JoAnn. I was happily surprised at how few bulbs I sliced up planting the new ones; thankfully most were little bulbs that didn't require much depth and will work well planted on top of others. I've been thinking I may try plugging some annuals into areas where I want to add bulbs, then in fall just yank them out and replace them with bulbs. I had tried setting containers into those areas, but couldn't stop myself from moving them around as the growing season progressed to make them look just right, LOL.
