Deb, my theory is that landing on my butt is the best way TO land. It's padded, and I don;t keep my brains there DESPITE what co-workers may say.

It's easy to shatter an elbow, sprain a wrist or concuss a brain.

Bt if you just relax when you start to fall, and let you butt take the shortest path down to the ground, you go down slowly to a padded landing.

Staying stiff, or trying to avoid the fall, maximizes your chance of falling like a tree, where the crown gets up to a high speed because it is at the far end of a long lever.

Just look down, and relax your knees. Make it look intentional, like sitting on the floor to meditate.
