About Rue...I would find it hard to think of it as an insect repellent. Mine blooms a lot and the blooms tend to attract butterflies and other insects! And then two species of butterflies use the plant as a host plant. So that's the reason why I grow it. So here's a Black Swallowtail caterpillar on Rue.
