The bright orange is a fluorescent tape that I now use to quickly tag plants that I want to keep. It is 1/2" wide and fits one of the small clear hand dispensers. I keep it in my pocket when collecting pollen and taking pix in the garden. Takes but a second or two to tag a plant.
This tape is water resistant and will stay with the plant till the end of the season.
The lighter one with the numbers on it is a small post-it type flag. A quick way to ID plants in the photos. It also can be used to get a quick focus target for the camera when it occasionally has trouble focusing where you want it to. This is not weather resistant and will only last till the next rain.
