That's true for everyone. The problem is that roses really are regional, but were marketed as if they would do well everywhere. That's not true, but it sure sold a lot of roses.
A rose that is awful for me might be a star in your garden.
I like the fact that you mention that you are gardening in a humid climate. It really makes a difference to have that kind of information available because it makes the comment more valuable.
I garden in an arid climate, so if I didn't mention that, I would be misleading people. Generally, once the summer temps hit 85 degrees and stay there, I don't have to worry about black spot of any kind because bs spores are not viable when temps are above 85 degrees in an arid climate.
