Patty, I'm not sure if I should be judging these as I'm not a qualified judge, but I know what I like. Color alone does not make an iris in my opinion. Although I love the color of 6R, it's the shape that I am concerned about. Although I'll say right from the start that it could be that it just hasn't finished opening yet, and would relax into a nicer shaped iris, but I don't have that information, so have to go on what I see. Look at the nice round shape of the standards on 2L in the group before this last one. Nice broad falls with some ruffles. Now look at 6R in that same group, and notice how the standards are almost straight up. and the falls are a bit more narrow at the base then farther down. It could also be it's maiden year of bloom, and maybe next years bloom will be better. Who knows. Maybe someone who really is an iris judge should comment, as I might be all wet! *Blush*
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
