Perhaps my monitor is reading the colour in this photo very differently, but it's a definite pink at this end, though I agree it's pink with a blue undertone...
However, googling photos of
Salvia pratensis 'Lapis Lazuli', I don't see any that come off as blue.
This is what lapis lazuli looks like, and I can attest that the colours are accurate on my monitor (and actually blue):

No matter, it's just peculiar that cultivar names can be so misleading and yet accepted!
I can only assume that whoever named it really had no idea of the colour of lapis!
