I think when they arrive with sides sliced off one tends to worry. But usually if you got the crown they will still grow. However, I do think one fan is a bit mean and one small fan is exceptionally mean. All you have to do is accidentally stand on it, or a cockatoo strip it, and hello oblivion. Also waiting two years for flowering is quite painful and makes a supplier unattractive.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.
