Susan, the tree is supposed to bloom in 'late winter', about like witch-hazels because it's in that family.

Ann, if you want the bulbs to gather energy for next year it's best to wait 'till they are done with that process before you disturb them...but if the leaves are buried in the dark and they don't bloom anyway, it might not matter that much when you do it Shrug!
