Ann, even in the shade they usually grow some foliage right? If so you might want to wait for the sap to run back into the bulb, and dig them after the foliage turns yellow. Since you are in Florida you could store them in the refrigerator till fall and plant them out then for beautiful blooms in the spring? or winter...... Whistling
