January 2014 several people on ATP agreed to help me see if we could germinate seeds I collected from the three sweet shrubs in the field. The entire experiment is on a thread under the Seeds Forum. It is available for us to talk to each other about what we are doing with our seeds. I sent each person seeds from all three plants and each person did their own thing with what they got. This is my record of what I did with mine.
Here is a picture of the seed pods before the seeds were removed.

January 15, 2014 I put seeds from all three species in the refrigerator to stratify them.
March 4, 2014 I planted the following in soil and perlite:

#1 is Michael Lindsey and there were only three of the 11 seeds that did not float. I planted the three good ones together and the others together because I did not know if you should plant floaters or not. I have since ask the group.
#2 I had only 1 floater and I planted all of them but 1...should be more than a dozen.
#3 I planted all 12 since I did not remember to see if any float.

Also today, Alana from Zone 7b showed this one sprout from her #2.
