I'll keep looking for an actual species description but here are photos of Dianthus myrtinervius in nature:

The photo Robert posted is probably also Dianthus deltoides - it looks like a pretty typical one.

These photo should also help to show how D. myrtinervius is different from the plants shown. It's D. myrtinervius ssp. caespitosus, a particular subspecies form that is smaller yet.
Note how the plant form (both photos), buds (first photo) and flowers (second photo) differ from those in the photos posted for this entry:
