I call them Shepard's hooks. I agree about the finch socks. Easy to use and the finches love them. I, too, buy the red feeders made from recycled materials. I got them at Walmart. I just replaced a couple of feeders that the squirrels loved to jump on. I have baffles but they sometimes outsmart them.
