I've created new plants simply by burying small branches of currant bushes; I have also forced branches from cherry and redwood and forsythia bushes. I just created my first hugul using branches and twigs and wonder if I'll wind up with a bunch of sprouted grape, cherry, redbud, and lilac shrubs from the pieces of branches that I used under the straw/compost/topsoil. The branches/twigs were all cut a while ago and lying outside, but I noticed several of them had formed buds despite being severed from their source. Anyone have shrubs sprout in their huguls?
