I was sitting at the computer for a lunch brake when I saw the postman headed to the door with a package. Yes, my order from Wild's has arrived. I immediately opened the package, OPPS! Quickly headed outside, the shredded paper was a total mess, I have always hated that stuff for packing material. I removed the packing list, and looked for the daylilies, saw a little sprig of green and felt a little relief, at least something was alive in there. Dug down through that mess of shredded paper trying not to scatter it everywhere, FEELING for daylilies, they were so small you couldn't really see them! Well, they were all there and they were still labeled, but the labels were attached in such a manner that I had to be very careful when handling them to put them in the little dish pan to soak them. The labels were loosely wrapped around the roots and were easy to slide off. So I quickly put some water in the pan, and stuck the little roots (can't really call them fans) so I guess you could call most of them "double roots" they may all be, but some are so small I don't think they would quality even as a "double root". The shredded paper was not damp, don't know if it ever was, the plants were very dry and the label had the cooler number they had been stored in on each plant, so obviously they were not fresh dug.
Disappointed..., heck no! I am eager to get them out of the tub and into the garden, I just know in a few months those things will be standing tall and proud.
