Some of the transplant solutions like Upstart are easy to use. I start feeding a dilute mixture of transplant solution about a month before actually transplanting so that the roots are growing like gangbusters at transplant time. Alfalfa meal is difficult to work with because it is "dusty" and can cause health problems if it is inhaled into your lungs.
