I thought you might want to see my how my star magnolia looks this spring. I didn't take it back as hard as you suggest simply because I am a wuss ...
I figured that if I didn't like how it looked I could always take off more later.
I took these photos after spending the day working on one of the street beds. Unfortunately, I didn't stop working until the light started to go. The plant is just starting to open its blooms.
