Hostas need a dormancy of at least 30 days with a temperature of under 40°.
If you have space in a refrigerator, select pots that will fit and grow your hosta in pots.
There are people in your zone that do this.
Smaller hostas are perfect for this life style. I recommend Fire Island, Curley Fries, Woodland Elf, Indigo, Appletini, and Saketini. Individually each would have its own 4" clay pot. Grouping them would produce a beautiful display. Six to 8" pots would accommodate up to five plants. Groupings are more appealing in odd numbers.
