Got a similar winter casualty too..this noid cacti ready to collapse now..luckily it has two "ears" I can keep. Am thinking that spot in my garden is really a chilly one. The last time, it was my Crassula ovata 'Gollum' that almost died there, and quickly bounced back when temps warmed up.

I was hoping this cacti will do the same, bounce back..or maybe too late for it..have been chopping off this cacti through the years..I should have learned my lesson eh? Or maybe mommy plant just wants to let the kids have the floor now. A similar cacti is in a container beside it but is doing well..so who knows what is going on Shrug!
