Cull list Tom? How do you ever choose. I have lovelies and homelies but they all are doing their very best, just like me.
Brett, all the iris in the compost area are NOID's. They make a really good show because they are so hardy. When someone comes along and says 'I like that one' I grab a spade and make room for the others to spread out. I have thought of digging them all and getting rid of that area entirely but they make a lovely show in the spring and they are right at the end of the driveway. It was just by happenstance that all the iris that took hold there were shades of purple. Here are a few close ups. Forgive the photography, not my forte.
a hint of plum in this purple
This is a very old iris and deserves a space for just enduring
This has lines all over it but as it ages the standards flare out and that is not lovely.
This one looks white in the picture with a little green on the center of the falls but it has a lot of lavender in the edges of the standards and falls.
This is reflecting some sky that give the rosy glow. actually a lovely purple iris.
