There is one very determined wren that insists EVERY YEAR on trying to build a nest in a pot in a corner of my greenhouse. Once the war begins I have to go out at least once an hour to pull out the astonishing amount of nesting material.

The picture is from last year .. I actually put an empty coffee can on top of the area WITH a lid on it it and the critter somehow took off the lid and built a nest in that!

I'm pretty sure its the same bird since the nest building occurs always in the same place in the greenhouse. The main reason I'm against this is because the babies will get drenched with water and considering that we're due for another polar vortex this coming week and beyond thru April according to AccuWeather she'd be shut out of the greenhouse on days that don't get above the upper 40's.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to discourage this darn critter from digging out holes in my pots and building nests? I'm sick of it .. I have bunches of bird houses and other nooks and crannies available and they do get used.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
