I have never cut my larger crape myrtles back, only limbed them up a little. Never thought to reuse them, but that sounds like a great idea. I guess there are probably other large shrubs that this would work with too. It's always nice to have a few good sticks around to stake something up or use as a plant marker like Greene's daughter did.
