I have had chickens on and off most of my life and decided to get some chicks to raise this spring. Nice brown eggs were my original goal so I bought black and golden sex-linked and some barred rocks. Then I saw some gold and silver laced Wyandottes and decided I needed some pretty ones that are moderate layers. Then I bought a couple brown Leghorns, spotted Sussex, Welsummers. New Hampshire reds, and Blue Andalusians. Now have 24 and I only want 8-10 so will need to rethink my goal....eggs or pretty? What do you think?
