Thanks for the comments. The shapes on the "odd pinkish shades" from the 'Lilac Time' X 'Jungle Shadows' varied all over the place. Some were full lotus shapes to others more like 'Jungle Shadows'. There were all colors in these crosses though from plain green to dark purple. Very interesting group. This is going to be a hard group for the students in the training session to sort through. It will be touigh for me to decide what to keep too as I would like to see what the next generation on these seedlings do as the parents are SO different there could be all sorts of interesting combinations that are generated.

On the seedlings I use "Quick Start" every two weeks and then taper off about August so they are more ready for winter. The named varieties I usually only fertilize in the spring but last year I did push the ones received in '12 from Fernwood so they would be big clumps in '14. Big mistake! They were pushed too hard and had losses from too lush plants facing the freeze in December. Of course in a "normal" year in Oregon that wouldn't have been a problem!

I love the "WILL WORK FOR CHOWDER" Greg! Mom's recipe is pretty damn good, just ask Cliff!

Kevin
