One pair of Canada geese has arrived! They must be returnees, because they made a bee-line for the area where we scatter corn for the turkeys. We're now getting days above freezing, but it's still frosty at night and the snow is at least a foot deep over much of the garden. The pond is still frozen solid except for a small patch of open water where the stream enters it. That's enough to keep the geese happy, and they are splashing around, having a good wash. They must not feel the cold like we do. Can you imagine immersing yourself in snow-melt?
