Perhaps the seller lives in the Southern hemisphere?
My Pachys are sitting throughout the Winter in a very sunny spot and I only direct water sparingly every so often into their direction, I certainly don't soak them, I just don't want the roots to die off totally.
Comes Spring I water just a bit more when I see them waking up/ budding and showing green tips. Once it is really warm around here in Summer and they are in active growth, I water along with everything else! I just make sure the pots/medium really drain well!
