The nursery up the road from me grows their A. bulbifer in the ground in full blazing sun. They leave in the ground year round here. It get's huge. I'm saving a bulb from mine and plan on putting it in the ground. I'm not sure but I don't think they do anything in particular for it tho it's in good draining soil.
