Yes, it works great for growing daylilies, not just for protection. Tommy Maddox in Biloxi, MS is the expert and his plants are great. One more tip: if the water level gets too high due to rain, the bed can get smelly in hot weather. Use some sort of overflow apparatus, like holes drilled at 3" level or a moveable section to drain some out. The pots will wick water up as they need it and you can add fertilizer as well. You can use it as a nursery for your seedlings and smaller plants to multiply and then put them out in the ground.
