I need to grow Turnips just to get over the fear of having to eat them when I was younger. My mom would boil them, mash them, put butter on them and then tell me it was some new potato she bought. To me it was GAG!!!!!!! Worst part was the dog wouldn't even eat it as I tried to slip in under the table. I can still remember the day as if it was yesterday when I stuffed the Turnips down my underwear then excused myself so I could flush it down the toilet. Mom caught on as all Mom's know everything that goes on. Growing up you ate what was on your plate or else. I'm hoping they taste 100% better home grown than store bought. Beets was another one of those foods I couldn't get down. I love growing beets now once I found out how good they are diced and roasted with a little salt and pepper.
