Rose....thanks for the kind comment. Our last average frost date here is mid-May. 41 degrees this morning at 5AM. The Hostas pictured are always the first in the garden and are in a warm spot between a concrete drive-way and the foundation of the house....eastern exposure so they get morning sun. Some years I have covered them a couple of cold nights. Spent yesterday cleaning oak leaves and acorns out of one of the beds. Hosta are just starting to emerge in that bed. The Montana pictured is on the east side of the house. Another Montana on the north end of the house is only up 3-4 inches. I need to get a couple of loads of compost and top dress the beds.
