Some of mine look similar to your photos, Susan. They seem to be my larger heuchs, so I was thinking that I would divide them. I have not done this yet, but plan on dividing soon.

I did look out in my garden beds and it seems that I have lost more heucherellas than anything else, although some of the hardier heucs seem to be gone as well. I will know more in the next couple of weeks. What surprises me though is all the heuchs I had in pots seemed to have faired well. I have never had good luck with plants overwintered in pots unless I have heeled them in for the winter. The only thing I can figure is these pots are closer to the house and are in an area that would be relatively sheltered from the winds.

The thought that goes through my mind is that plants are rated for certain zones and I am wondering what zone our winter was comparable to - I know it wasn't a typical zone 5b winter.
