Stephanie, here's another photo of it I took on 05/17/11. The first several blooms were sooooo aweful. I've had quite a few of my daylilies that bloomed all splotchy and ugly. the ones in the beds with overhead sprinklers I assumed was water getting into the buds and making them splotch. But when the blooms opened in the beds with soaker hoses I was upset and thought I had bought daylilies that were just going to be ugly anyway. However, since the later blooms have straightened up I will chalk it up to 2 things. Either it was thrips and I didn't spray early enough or it was the cool weather (then warm, then cool) making the buds not open all the way and dew would get in and then when they finally opened the next day or so they would be blotched.
