Thinking about new visitors to this site. They will be able to see how active and recent the threads are. So many times a new member will make their first post on an 'ancient' inactive thread.
It will also give some indication of 'whose online' at the moment.
This 'new' way of posting the time/date may be very helpful to the newbies even it it makes only half of the existing members happy.
