I plant everything everywhere however I like it as far as color goes. I do like to add some silvery color and lime or purple foliage too. I plant the taller toward the back and shorter in the front.
If I like it, I plant it somewhere.
I think the lighter pink colors are the hardest for me to work with in terms of dl/summer garden. I like pink in a spring bloom garden-daffs, iris, peonys and azaleas. But by summer I like richer colors.
I think the clear yellows are a little hard to place sometimes.
I did a bed once with nothing but purple and cream/white and it turned out really pretty.
